Gareth is a time-served business leader with over 20 years in the property sector providing development risk advice for developers, their design teams, investment funds and contractors. He is commercially astute and has spent his career advising clients on opportunities and liabilities associated with contaminated land ownership and development. He is also passionate about the natural environment and wider CSR issues and has provided carbon and corporate responsibility advice at board level to multinational corporates.

Gareth has advised on thousands of brownfield sites and portfolios of properties at due diligence, during the planning & development phases and at asset disposal in the UK and around the world.

He previously worked as Projects Director at QDS Environmental and Managing Director at Delta-Simons for nearly 12 years having led the demerge from QDS and subsequent sustained growth, recruitment and diversification of that business until 2014.

Jay is a multi-chartered Engineering Geologist and has worked in the Civil Engineering and Environmental Consultancy Sector for over 24 years. He leads geotechnical design, contaminated land and brownfield assessment, pre-acquisition and divestiture due diligence and EIA.

Jay combines geotechnical and environmental aspects of site evaluation and value engineering of existing designs. He has wide ranging earthworks experience and undertakes slope stability studies, foundation, reinforced soil, retaining wall and pile (and platform) designs. He prepares all types of ground Report formats and certificates including to highways and rail standards. Jay has worked predominantly in the built environment in the highways, rail, MOD, HMP, waste, commercial and residential development sectors. He has particular expertise and knowledge of asbestos in soils and has been in the past an asbestos surveyor.

He has previously worked at Jacobs, Opus International, HBPW, Delta-Simons and RSA Geotechnics.
